PLL 2020 Spring/Summer Season Cancelled

Dear PLL Families,

We wanted to update you on the status of the 2020 Little League Baseball season. Little League has given all leagues guidelines to safely resume play, but only if our state and local health officials gives us the green light. It is with great sadness that despite guidelines issued by Little League to resume play, our state and local health officials have not deemed it safe to return to play in the current phase of reopening. Organized youth sports falls into one of the last stages and phases to open up. With this information, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to officially cancel the 2020 Spring/Summer Little League season.

As mentioned previously, PLL is a non-profit youth sports organization serving our community for over 50 years. All of the funds received during registration have already been spent on preparing for the season. Your donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated to help sustain PLL for many years to come. Like many small businesses and organizations, PLL is not immune to the financial losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Next steps:

If you would like a full refund or partial refund please email [email protected] with your child’s name, team, and division. The turnaround time for refunds can take up two weeks.

If you would like to donate your registration fee to the league, you do not have to reply back to this email. If you need a donation receipt from the league, please email [email protected]. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Many of our board members and coaches have indicated that they are donating their fees.

Your volunteer deposits will not be cashed. We will destroy the checks.

Be on the lookout for upcoming baseball activities once we can safely resume play again.

Little League Sandlot Program is a free program giving kids the opportunity to just play baseball where kids make the rules, make the lineups and make the calls. PLL will host the event and kids in the same age groups can come out and just play baseball.

PLL Fall Ball Program is traditionally used to develop skills in preparation for the following season. If we are allowed to have a Fall Ball Program this year, we hope to make it resemble a regular season with more games and competition.

Lastly, thank you to all the volunteers, especially our managers and coaches for time spent preparing for the season. We will be back stronger than ever. Stay safe and enjoy the summer.
